Clarity From Complexity
Our research helps universities to address key organisational questions and complex human related issues that they are facing.
We view universities as living human systems and approach research with the aim of better understanding the lived experience of staff and stakeholders.
Our research seeks to provide the basis for evidence-based solutions and interventions which address organisational need and are underpinned by our deep knowledge of higher education.
Our team is experienced in conducting research for universities and we have a full-time Director, Research who oversees our work and ensures academic rigour.
A Case For Change And Improvement
We conduct significant pieces of research and analysis for the universities we work with.
- A diagnosis of cultural strengths and areas for cultural improvement of an under-performing school in a Russell Group university, contextualising what might be driving these behaviours, and recommending an approach to action planning and implementation to realise cultural opportunities
- An assessment of academic working practices in a post-1992 university, using a mix of qualitative research methods to explore the inhibitors and enablers of organisational performance
- A research project to support a newly established Effectiveness and Efficiency Group in one of the UK’s largest universities to uncover areas for cost improvement and revenue enhancement as well as identify inefficiencies and potential barriers to more effective and efficient practices
- A review of leadership and organisational culture of a large directorate in a public research university, including the deployment of the Denison Organisational Culture Survey, to help further develop its effectiveness
